Flower Program
Become a Friend of the Flower Program and help grow downtown Ridgway’s beauty and pride!
Ridgway’s “Lily of the Valley” downtown historic district works hard to live up to its name! The Ridgway Heritage Council, a non-profit organization founded in 1997, was created to combat blight and revitalize the downtown area. Over the years, the group has been involved with a variety of streetscape improvements, including historic lighting, lovely town entrance signs, brick sidewalks, and downtown tree beds filled with flowers. A plaque program embedded in sidewalks honors community donors. The group also supports a summertime “hanging flower basket” program that lends a cheery addition to Main Street. Many downtown structures sport a “historic date plaque”, noting what year the buildings were erected. The beautification effort greatly helped in the recruitment of many new business to our beautiful downtown.
The Ridgway Heritage Council is responsible for the hanging baskets and tree beds that line Main Street, as well as maintain the flower beds at the courthouse lawn and cannons. We are always looking for volunteers to help with these tasks- if you’re interested in getting involved, please submit your information through the form on this page, and we’ll contact you!
